In terms of global smartphone sales, Apple has reclaimed the top spot. The iPhone maker's success last year was mostly due to its success in the Chinese market.
On January 26, Apple will disclose its financial report for the year 2021. However, before Tim Cook's business made an official announcement, CNN reported that iPhone sales in China were so high last year that the company jumped back to the top of the global list, citing two distinct research studies.
According to a recent research report by industry analyst 'Counterpoint Research,' Apple has surpassed Samsung as the top seller in the Chinese smartphone market in the last three months of 2021. For the first time in six years, Apple has regained its status as the country's top smartphone seller.
In the last quarter of 2021, Apple accounted for 23 percent of the Chinese smartphone market, up from 16 percent a year earlier. And with the success of the Chinese market, Apple has regained the position of the top smartphone seller in the world, according to a report by Canalis, another research firm.
According to research institutes, Apple has been able to overtake Samsung, the top competitor in the smartphone market, during the last three months of the year, including Christmas and other festive holidays. At the time, Apple accounted for 22 percent of the global market, and Samsung accounted for 20 percent.

He did add, though, that Huawei played an indirect influence in Apple's success. Various US government sanctions have harmed Huawei's operations, with critical parts being cut off and Huawei's production system being affected.
Apple is in third place on the list of the most popular smartphone sellers in China for the entire year of 2021. Vivo and Apo are in first and second place, respectively. According to CNN, each of the three corporations owns around a fifth of the market.
